Over many years Speedy and safety have become synonymous; however we have used each improvement in safety as a foundation on which to build the next improvement. There has never been room for complacency and there never will be.
At Speedy we view safety in the round; as a joined up activity, dependent on a number of factors, to produce the safest working practices and increased safety across the sectors we serve.
This means we do not just look at the safety of the tools and equipment we provide, as important as this is, we also look at site training from toolbox talks to specific training on specific equipment, on the safe transport of our tools and equipment and to new ways of working.
Joined up in approach and working closely with our suppliers and customers these measures are helping to keep the momentum of the construction industry in driving safe working practices in a continuous upward trend.
At Speedy we are delighted to be an integral part of this agenda and to champion best practice in everything we do internally and externally.
Our ‘Safety from the ground up’ customer campaign is recognised throughout the industry as having championed, delivered and maintained industry leading programmes in areas that are crucial to the wellbeing of people working in the industry.
We have targeted areas of high risk such as working at height, hand arm vibration (HAV), dust control and manual handling and more recently we have focussed on situational and self-awareness in light of the ‘One accident is too many’ report, commissioned by the HSE and published in 2012.
